Disney is coming to Chatham County with the announcement of Asteria, a brand-new residential community. This exciting project marks the second Storyliving by Disney development, following the groundbreaking Cotino community in California.

What is Asteria?

Asteria is a 1,500-acre planned community located in the beautiful Chatham Park development, northeast of Pittsboro, North Carolina. Once complete, it will offer a vibrant and unique living experience unlike any other, inspired by the magic of Disney and the spirit of discovery.

What to expect at Asteria:

Current stage of development:

The Asteria community is currently in the initial stages of development, with home sales expected to begin in 2027.

Why choose Asteria?

Asteria offers residents a unique opportunity to live in a vibrant and connected community surrounded by the magic of Disney. Whether you're a young family, a retiree, or anyone in between, Asteria has something to offer everyone.

How much will Asteria cost?

We are unsure what the costs will be at this time but the community in California, Cotino, gives us a peak into what they could be. Cotino starts around 1 million. Now, a 1 million dollar house in California is much different than a 1 million dollar house here, generally speaking. With prices in Chatham Park averaging in the mid 500s, I do not believe the starting price will be 1 million for Asteria. However, I am sure it will be more expensive than the average in Chatham Park and will reach into the millions.

There is also the cost of the club membership to consider. In Cortino it is a $25,000 initiation fee and $11,000 every year after that. We could see something similar here since those are comparable numbers to various private golf clubs in the area.

Conclusion

All-in-all, this is a big deal for the Raleigh area! Companies continue to invest here and people continue to move and find it a desirable place to live. The future of the Triangle is bright!
