When is the last time an experience truly called you to linger longer? Somewhere with an atmosphere so unassuming and laid back that it was more tempting to sit and enjoy than hop back into the hustle and bustle of life once finished with your meal?
Gussie’s, a recent recommendation from a friend, is the definition of versatility. It’s an eclectic bar serving a robust menu of classics and unexpected alternatives, like the beet and quinoa burger (a must-try on any meatless Monday) or the double smash burger served up old-fashioned-diner style in parchment next to spicy pork rinds. A moody, well-decorated pub at first glance, Gussie’s delivers all the good vibes with an easy order-at-the bar and sit-wherever-you’d-like approach.
While placing your order, be sure to glance at the full cocktail, mocktails, wine and beer menu. The garnished beverages don’t disappoint, with creative spins on Moscow mules, old fashioneds and cleverly-named concoctions like “The Indoor Scarf” with amaretto liquor and other cozy flavors.
Separated from the bar only by comfy seating and eccentric wallpaper is Gussie’s Bottle Shop - a convenient drop in option for purchasing beer and wine, even if you don’t have time to linger.
Hours vary by day of week and whether you’re looking to enjoy the Kitchen or the Bottle Shop, so be sure to check the website before planning your visit! One thing’s for sure though - every day after 4PM, a stop into Gussie’s means you’ll get to enjoy all that the kitchen has to offer. (Did we mention that Gussie’s is a top contender for French Onion Soup? Talk about a comfort meal on a cold day!)
