NC State Fair 2025 Must-Try Foods

We came. We saw. We ate until we couldn’t eat anymore.
First stop (as always): Peachey’s Bakery — this spot gets packed fast, so hit it first! Their glazed donut and soft pretzel are hands-down the best we’ve ever had and a must every single year!
Next up: $1 Delicious Howling Cow chocolate milk to support the NC State Animal Science Club.
Then we hit Fat Boys BBQ to try the "Best New Food 2025" winner: the Cowgirl Bite which is Eastern NC BBQ + pimento cheese deep fried to perfection. Plus, their mac & cheese? Worth every bite.
To cool off, we grabbed an orange dreamsicle slushie from Moose Juice Slush, which was exactly what the hot day called for!
The local favorite, La Farm, is also at the State Fair, so of course we had to try their new Pizza Croissant — flaky, cheesy, with just the right kick of Italian spice. A solid 10/10! And don’t skip their other baked goods while you're there!
Last but not least, a sweet stop at Smitty’s Apples, like we do every year. This time we went for the Apple Turnover and it did not disappoint — warm, flaky, and the perfect ending to a day of eats.
The State Fair is in town until October 26th, so there’s still plenty of time to grab these amazing bites. Go hungry!
