Have you been to Arepa Culture at Pleasant Valley Promenade in North Raleigh!?  If the answer is no, perhaps you’ve visited one of their popular food trucks at a brewery or event around The Triangle.  And if the answer is still no, we think it’s time you try this wonderful, family-owned, taste of Venezuela right here in North Carolina!

Past zen salt lamps and welcoming neon signs, guests order from a menu full of savory, authentic arepas and cachapas stuffed with clever combinations of fresh ingredients. You’d never know these Venezuelan staples are gluten-free, with the arepa resembling a sandwich on a warm corn-based English muffin, and the slightly sweeter cachapa taking after a pancake stuffed with creamy cheese and fillings of your choice. Try best-selling “La Tica” with seasoned chicken and caramelized onions, or “La Capresa” for a tasty fusion of arepa with chilled mozzarella and pesto!

The inside of Arepa Culture’s brick and mortar location evokes vacation vibes, with dozens of live plants, fun music and botanical ambience.  There’s plenty of seating for parties of any size, and the casual, easy-going setting is perfect for sharing a meal with family and friends (kiddos included). Or, take a quieter seat at one of the outdoor bistro tables when the weather is nice.  When you’re done with your meal, consider treating yourself to a flan cheesecake to-go.  The handmade desserts are just as yummy as they look!

If you’re not quite neighbors with Arepa’s restaurant, don’t worry!  Odds are their food truck is heading to you soon.  We’ve seen Arepa Culture make appearances in Clayton, Wake Forest and so many other cities around The Triangle.  Check out their Food Truck Calendar to see where they’re popping up next!
