Beow’s Books & Brews
Nestled discreetly behind lush vines in North Raleigh, Beow’s Books & Brews invites loyal crafters, avid readers, coffee connoisseurs, hungry students, and working professionals to gather among floor to ceiling tree-lined murals and enjoy each other’s camaraderie. Just as the likes of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R.Tolkein and Dorothy Sayers shared thoughtful ideas at pubs across Oxford, England, Beow’s Books & Brews cultivates a similar spirit of collaboration and intellectual inspiration in the modern day.
Much of what makes this independent bookstore so special is its focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere from the plush seating scattered throughout to the menu full of breakfast bites and hot sandwiches among other tasty snacks to boost your brain power as you ponder, create and commune with friends. Coffee enthusiasts can savor expertly brewed selections from Black and White Coffee Roasters, while those who prefer something a bit stronger can choose from the craft beer and wine menu which boasts options from over a dozen North Carolina breweries and vineyards, including Tobacco Wood, Havoc, and Aviator Brewing. We love that the experience is as local as it gets!
Speaking of locals, Beow’s Books & Brews is more than just a spot for great coffee and productivity; it's a vibrant hub for community engagement. The venue regularly hosts live music, children’s story hours, and comedy shows for all ages. Anyone can reserve a large table to host meetups, book clubs, Bible studies and craft nights. Whatever the occasion, the bookstore’s incredibly friendly bartenders and baristas will greet you with a smile and warm conversation as they prepare your creamy Chai latte or pour your favorite local brew on tap.
So where can you find this captivating piece of Raleigh!? Search 8111-153 Creedmoor Road in your GPS. Beow’s shares the same parking lot as Margaux’s Restaurant in the Brennan Station Shopping Center. On our most recent visit, an inside scoop told us that a new location is soon to open near Falls of Neuse. And if the beautiful murals inside the Brennan Station location catch your eye, we hear the new location will have its own array of wall art inspired by stained glass. We can’t wait to see for ourselves!
