This one’s for our gluten-free and vegan foodie friends!  Except that we couldn’t believe the melt in your mouth cinnamon roll we tried didn’t have dairy in it… so actually, this one’s for anyone with a hankering for a sweet treat!  Bonafide Bakeshop & Cafe in Apex has got you covered. 

This cafe oozes with personality with its botanical decor, live plants and bustling crowd.  A quiet study bench towards the back offers a perfect spot for students and remote workers to get a change of scenery without taking a front seat to the cheerful chatter in the main seating area.  Closer to the entrance, a collection of plush leather seating feels as cozy as having coffee with a friend in your family room.  Much to our delight, no matter where you sit down to enjoy a toasty cup of coffee or tea, you’re not far from a beautiful display case with dozens of goodies, many appealing to a gluten-free and vegan audience, but none lacking in total decadence. 

Comforting crumb cakes, gooey s’mores bars and made-from-scratch pastries aren’t the only thing on the menu though.  Nor should you consider Bonafide Bakeshop a breakfast only joint!  If you’re looking for a hearty start to your day, we love the lingonberry oatmeal with toasted coconut and almond butter.  Don’t want to miss out on the bakes that make Bonafide a local favorite?  In that case, try the Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese Sandwich on a flakey, buttery biscuit.  And for lunch, a selection of flavorful bowls and hand held combinations of bakery-fresh bread, melty cheese, and vegan meats will leave you refueled with a happy heart.

Bonafide Bakeshop & Cafe incorporates the flavors of the season into their menu, so there’s always something new to try!  If you were lucky enough to stop in around St. Patrick’s Day this spring, you might have noticed hints of mint and other irish-inspired pops of green appearing across cheesecakes, cupcakes and tarts.  The celebration didn’t stop with the desserts.  See how much St. Patty’s Day decor you can spot throughout the cafe on the day these photos were taken!  We’re excited to see bunnies, eggs and carrots make their appearance around Easter!
