Chapel Community Park: New playground!

Chapel Hill Community Park has long been a cherished spot for families, and thanks to recent upgrades, it’s now more inclusive and fun than ever. The newly refreshed playground is designed to accommodate children of all ages and abilities, ensuring that everyone has a place to play and connect.

The playground features a variety of equipment tailored to different age groups. Older children can enjoy dynamic climbers and more challenging play structures, while toddlers have access to gentle slides and safe, engaging spaces. This thoughtful design means kids can play side by side, no matter their developmental stage.

One of the standout features of the park is its abundance of shaded areas. The playground includes shade structures, and the surrounding field is filled with mature trees and picnic tables—perfect for taking a break, enjoying a snack, or simply relaxing while the kids play. As any parent knows, some shade is also a welcome feature at the playground in the spring and summer!

Beyond the playground, Chapel Hill Community Park offers a wide range of amenities. The Chapel Hill Community Center, located adjacent to the playground, houses a gym and swimming pool. There’s also a scenic walking trail for those looking to get some fresh air and movement, and the Gene Strowd Community Rose Garden offers a peaceful retreat among beautiful blooms.

The transformation of the playground was made possible through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and was guided by extensive community input. Residents were invited to share their ideas and preferences through public listening sessions and surveys, helping to ensure that the final design truly reflects the needs and desires of the Chapel Hill community.

Located at 120 S. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill Community Park continues to be a vibrant, welcoming space for all. Whether you're looking for active play, a place to unwind, or just a scenic spot to spend the day, this newly updated park is well worth the visit.
