Davis Drive Park - Cary
By Chelsea Nallenweg
Davis Drive Park in West Cary is a unique, shaded park that was just newly renovated! With updated amenities and a brand new design, it serves as a great outing for families to check out this spring/summer.

The playground was designed with inclusive play in mind. It features soft rubber flooring, a communication board, and some equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities. At the center is a very unique climbing structure with multiple ways to explore, including a giant climbing net, sliding mat, stepping stones, ninja-style ladders, swirly sliding pole, and rock walls all throughout different levels. There are two slides for kids to choose from. There is even a sign that outlines different routes through the structure, adding an interactive element, and a bird-themed scavenger hunt is incorporated throughout the play area!

Additional playground features include a variety of swings, see-saws, a small climbing dome, and a musical instrument area. Beyond the playground, the park includes soccer fields and a basketball court. There are also restrooms located near the playground, which is a plus with families!

For those looking to relax, there is a shaded picnic area. The park also connects directly to the White Oak Creek Greenway, where a paved half-mile loop provides an easy option for walking, running, or light exercise.

Overall, Davis Drive Park combines a unique design, some accessibility, shaded trees, and a variety of amenities, making it a fun and welcoming community park in the Raleigh area this summer!
