Donald "Clyde" Sinclair Park - Raleigh

By Chelsea Nallenweg

Tucked right in the heart of downtown Clayton, the newly renovated Donald “Clyde” Sinclair Park, also known as All Star Park, is such a fun and easy outing for families with little ones. The playground has been completely updated with two separate play structures, making it perfect for a wide range of ages. There’s a smaller structure designed just for toddlers (ages 2–5) and a larger one for bigger kids (ages 5–12), so everyone has their own space to explore and play. The new swings are a huge highlight too, including two adaptive swings, and the entire playground features ADA-accessible surfacing, making it more inclusive for all kids.

One of the best parts (especially for parents with multiple littles) is that the whole playground is fully fenced in, which makes it so much easier to relax while the kids play! Just outside the playground, you’ll find a picnic shelter with bathrooms nearby, plus a basketball court.

This park is just a few minutes away from all that downtown Clayton has to offer, making it the perfect spot to turn a simple park visit into a full outing. After playing, take the short 5-minute walk over to Burney’s Sweets & More for one of their famous stuffed croissants!

Whether you’re meeting friends, packing a picnic, or just looking for an easy, enclosed place for your kids to run and play, Donald “Clyde” Sinclair Park is such a great addition to Clayton and definitely worth a visit.
