Grasshopper Farms- Knightdale, NC
Fall season is quickly approaching, which means all of the farms in The Triangle are getting ready for pumpkins and corn mazes! Grasshopper Farms in Knightdale, NC, is a local family farm and adventure park, offering fun activities for all ages! Open six days a week, year-round, this place is much more than just a seasonal farm. They feature a variety of activities for kids any time of the year, local ice cream, weekly events, a plant nursery, a country store and their latest excitement- a brand new gem mining attraction!
One of the best parts about this farm is that it is open year round for families to enjoy! All year kids can enjoy the large backyard playground, which has five different slides, a rock climbing wall, play kitchen, chair bench swing, tire swing, and regular/baby swings. There is also a giant sandbox filled with sand toys. Their newest activity is a large gem mining station outside by the playground. Kids can sift through gem packages to discover treasures like seashells, fossils or unique rocks! At the gem mining station, children can choose from a variety of gem packages filled with hidden surprises. They can sift through the sand and water to discover treasures like colorful gems, seashells, and fossils to take home. They also provide a chart for kids to identify what they found. This interactive water activity is perfect for kids who love to explore and dig for treasure!
The farm’s ice cream shop, open all year, serves delicious ice cream with 20+ flavors made from natural ingredients sourced from a local creamery. Their country store also sells all sorts of items made in the Triangle- produce, jams, breads, cheeses, old fashioned sodas and candies, and souvenirs.
During the fall season they have a 4 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch and other seasonal activities, along with special fall events. Grasshopper Farms is also a great place for birthday parties as they have a giant picnic pavilion with tables next to the playground. The farm is located 10 minutes down the road from Knightdale Station Park and Prime Barbeque.
