Greystone Rec Center- Raleigh

Greystone Recreation Center is home to Raleigh’s first indoor playground and rock climbing wall! This has been a favorite indoor play option in the Triangle since 2010 and one of the reasons is that it is completely free to the public! Located in the Greystone Village Shopping Center- the indoor playground is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm. and Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm. This 9,600-square-foot facility provides a fun and safe environment for kids to play inside, especially on rainy days, chilly mornings, or those hot summer afternoons.

The indoor playground features various climbing structures, including a giant rope spider web, suspended rope holes, spinners, nature-inspired climbing rocks and a giant rock climbing wall. Beneath it all, a soft, rubber surface cushions every step, with a playful blue “river” running through the green flooring. The walls are painted with nature scenes like waterfalls, forests and animals adding a beautiful touch to the playground.

Designed primarily for children ages 5-12, the playground also includes sensory-friendly wall activities and a small book corner for younger kids. Adults can relax on benches along the walls, and the facility offers vending machines and restrooms for convenience.

Beyond open play, Greystone Recreation Center hosts a variety of programs, camps, and event rentals. There is a room next to the playground for birthday parties along with a dance studio. Whether escaping the weather or looking for a new adventure, families should definitely check out this completely free indoor playground in Raleigh!
