Harper Park- Knightdale, NC

Cooler fall weather on the way means it’s the best time to explore parks in The Triangle! Harper Park in Knightdale, NC, is a four-acre neighborhood park that opened in May of 2023, so it has a new feel to it still. Named in honor of Eugene Harper, Knightdale’s longest-serving mayor, the park offers two inclusive playgrounds for everyone to enjoy. They are designed to cater to children of all abilities, with state-of-the-art inclusive equipment such as a zero-entry merry-go-round, sensory play features, inclusive swings, large swings, a ropes course, and a giant climbing structure with slides. The playground is also equipped with a soft, bouncy surface for added safety and comfort for everyone of all ages.

The park also includes four dedicated outdoor asphalt courts for tennis and pickleball, complete with permanent lines, nets, lights, restrooms, and water facilities. These courts are free to use, making them an excellent option for anyone looking to play pickleball!

Harper Park has more than two acres of shaded woods and grassy lawns, ideal for picnics, relaxation, or casual fall strolls. The park's covered picnic shelters with tables and chairs provide a perfect spot for family gatherings. The Knightdale Police substation is also right in the park, which adds to the sense of safety in the area.

Harper Park is a wonderful outdoor space for families and a perfect fall outing in the Raleigh area! The park is a short 2 minute drive from Oak City Brewing for any families looking to make a full fall day out of this outing. They have a fenced in lot making it a great space for kids to run around in, while adults relax after a fun park outing!
