Jaguar Bolera

Have you heard about this vibrant, sprawling venue in Raleigh where guests enjoy fabulous food, limitless entertainment, and over a dozen varieties of beverages on tap!?  Today we’re talking about the brand new, 50,000 square foot restaurant and event space which proudly blends Southern hospitality with the flavors and beauty of Mexico.  This unique fusion is just as incredible as it sounds, with bursts of eclectic Southern style interplaying with latin influence scattered throughout the artwork, wallpaper and cuisine (brought to you by none other than season 21 Top Chef contestant Manny Barella).  You simply must visit to fully grasp this special experience, coined “Southern Hospitalidad”.

We were impressed by just how much there is to do at Jaguar Bolera, and what a wide range of purposes this space appeals to.  Whether corporate meetup or bachelor/bachelorette party, everyone is sure to have fun and find the nook (or bowling lane, or dart board) that feels right for them.  Jaguar Bolera is not just about funky atmosphere and delicious food (more on that later)... get the party started in the karaoke room which, while at the center of the fun, somehow feels non-intimidating, even exclusive as your only audience will be those who’ve joined you in the “studio”!

Other activities include duckpin bowling, dart boards, and a charming selection of nostalgic board games like Sorry, Chutes & Ladders and Jenga, which guests are invited to check out library-book style and take with them to whatever cozy spot in the expansive building they’ve found to play with friends.  We love how the easy, help yourself nature of Jaguar Bolera allows everyone to focus on their company in an organic, inviting setting.

Speaking of “help yourself”, those beverages on tap we mentioned earlier… you get to be the bartender!  By simply loading a wristband with funds, you gain access to every beverage in the house.  Wines, local brews, ciders - and yes - even cocktails and mocktails are among the options when you stop by any of the beverage stations.  You’ll love the liberty these wristbands give you to sample drinks, try something new, or switch it up as the night goes on, all without needing to elbow up to a busy bar to shout your drink order.

And finally, deserving of its own blog, Chef Manny Barella’s menu is one that’ll keep you coming back on top of all that great ambience!  If you’re even the slightest bit curious about how one might mesh Southern comfort food with fresh Mexican ingredients, look no further than the Smoked Pork Belly Burnt Ends accompanied by lime cured onions, or the Chorizo Hush Puppies with avocado crema.  The large menu also includes a series of tacos and handhelds, perfect for curbing your appetite as you tee up for your next round of darts.  Check out all the creative dishes on the menu here.

Jaguar Bolera, while wonderfully diverse in its options for entertainment, food and beverages, is knit together by its warm atmosphere, kind employees and quirky decor.  Pops of pink, yellow and lime green make appearances throughout, making this worth a visit just to take in the design eye candy!  You’ll know you’ve made it to the party at 2221 Iron Works Drive when you spot the building with purple jaguar print and orange signage.  Hours vary by day of week and can be found on the website.  We’re so excited to hear about your favorite way to spend an outing at Jaguar Bolera!
