Museum of Natural Sciences Prairie Ridge Ecostation
Located 15 minutes west of downtown Raleigh, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences Prairie Ridge Ecostation is one of the coolest places to get outside and learn about nature! Embracing the beauty of the natural world, this eco-sanctuary boasts an array of features for everyone. Kids can walk through the gardens and native tree arboretum, walk trails that lead through prairie and forest, or explore the ponds filled with frogs and other creatures.
The Nature PlaySpace is a huge hit for little ones. Kids are free to roam and explore in a natural environment filled with different outdoor activities. Kids can play in a mud kitchen, dig in a giant sand pit, learn how to camp, or just simply play with sticks and dirt. The museum staff offers nature play days and story times in the play space amphitheater. They also have a self guided story walk trail where kids can read a book while on a walk! Prairie Ridge Ecostation is truly a must visit place this spring for anyone looking to explore the outdoor world in the triangle area.
