R.S. Dunham Park- Cary, NC

R.S. Dunham Park is a fun little park in Cary that has a variety of outdoor recreational activities. It is known as "Dad Park” as it honors the legacy of R.S. Dunham, a former Cary High School teacher who dedicated 40 years to educating students.

One of the park's most popular and unique attractions is its pump track—a rolling loop track designed for bikes and scooters, providing an exciting challenge for riders of all skill levels. The track features rollers connected by turns that help kids gain speed. Cary Action Sports has installed pop-up skate parks at both this park and Marla Dorrel Park to allow kids to practice skills on their own schedule. These are unstaffed locations. Please follow posted use guidelines and always wear safety equipment.

The park features a small playground ideal for toddlers, shaded by a canopy of trees. The playground includes a variety of equipment, such as a climbing structure with slides, a spinning disc, seesaw, swings, a sandbox with diggers, and a toddler-sized dinosaur to climb on. The park also has six lighted tennis courts, perfect for evening matches, and two basketball courts.

Whether families are looking for a simple shady playground, a track to challenge biking skills, or enjoy a game of tennis or basketball, R.S. Dunham Park offers something recreational for everyone!
