Tepuy Donuts
Sourdough bread had a real moment back in 2020 with the pandemic challenging us to pick up new hobbies and leading many of us (just me?) to the unfortunate realization that it’s best to leave baking to the pros. In the surge of new cafes to splurge on an AM treat, I am so glad to embrace the talents of those baking pros and enjoy all the goodness that comes from their kitchens! And speaking of sourdough, have you tried Tepuy Donuts? These hand crafted delights are selling like hotcakes through the doors of 2820 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh and you won’t want to miss them!
Not only are these sourdough donuts delicious, they’re beautiful! Dried hibiscus leaves, toasted marshmallows, graham cracker crumbs, and thick chocolate frosting dress each donut making them fit for a photo… if you can stop yourself from diving right in! To add a bit more substance, consider a toasty breakfast egg sandwich on brioche with sprouts and bacon alongside a hash patty. The sweet and savory combo when paired with a crème brûlée filled donut is oh-so-satisfying!
When spoiled with a warm morning, colorful bistro tables invite guests to enjoy their bites outside. Limited bar height seating on the inside offers an exclusive glimpse into the donut-baking process! Peak through the window into the bakery to find fresh ingredients piled high as they prepare the next batch. We loved the sourdough twist and we think you will too!
The atmosphere inside Tepuy is bright and cheery, bursting with donut-inspired decor and shades of pink and teal that bring lively vibes. Open 6:30AM-3PM every day except for Wednesday, stop in for a treat! If you have your sights (or stomach) set on a flavor in particular, get there promptly! We were lucky to score the last Boston Cream one Sunday, just a day after Tepuy had nearly sold out! Word is quickly catching on about these tasty treats and we can’t wait to hear what you think!
