The Scoop at Willow Oak Farms in Fuquay-Varina has everything from sweet treats and farm animals to outdoor play and even an indoor play space, making it a great outing for families in the Triangle this spring!
The ice cream shop features dozens of flavors, along with signature sundaes and milkshakes that are picture-worthy! One popular option, the “Ain’t Nuttin Better,” includes peanut butter ice cream with a vanilla frosted rim, topped with a Reese’s peanut butter cup, Nutter Butter cookies, and whipped cream. They also have traditional ice creams in cups or cones with lots of topping options, and guests can even get a flight of ice cream to try different flavors! Some of their fun and unique flavors include pretzel sundae, Cookie Monster, cowpuccino crunch, Tennessee whiskey, and Superman.
Aside from the ice cream, the farm includes a fun outdoor play area included with an ice cream purchase. This area features a wooden playground with slides, swings, a wooden play train, and a giant sand hill for climbing and sand play.
Guests can also purchase animal feed to interact with a variety of farm animals, including cows, goats, horses, bunnies, roosters, and donkeys. The animals are very active and enjoy being fed!
An indoor play space is also available for an additional $6 per child. The space includes multiple imaginative play stations such as a veterinary office, grocery store, lemonade stand, tractor, toddler area, reading corner, and obstacle course. Although indoors, the area is designed with open windows and doors to allow for airflow and a connection to the outdoor surroundings.
