1. Brier Creek Park – Raleigh

Brier Creek Park in Raleigh is an easy park to explore with toddlers, with a separate playground designed specifically for children ages 2–5. Both playground areas feature rubberized safety surfacing, giving little ones a comfortable place to run, climb, and play. With toddler-friendly equipment and a convenient location, this is a great Raleigh park for younger kids who are ready for their own playground adventure.





2. Blue Jay Point County Park – Raleigh

Blue Jay Point County Park in Raleigh has a small toddler climbing structure, swings, soft rubber surfacing, and a giant sandbox filled with toys for little ones to enjoy. When you're ready to explore beyond the playground, there's an easy 0.3-mile walk that leads down to beautiful Falls Lake, where kids can explore the shoreline and enjoy the scenery. 3. Kids Together Playground – Cary

Kids Together Playground in Cary is an inclusive playground surrounded by beautiful trees, with lots of shade, accessible pathways, and several play areas for different ages. The fenced-in preschool area includes a small slide, bridge, and giant sandbox filled with imaginative play equipment, giving younger kids their own space to explore. On warmer days, little ones can also cool off near the spray misters before heading back for more climbing and play!





4. Knightdale Station Park – Knightdale

Knightdale Station Park in Knightdale features a colorful train-themed playground designed for younger children, along with soft rubber surfacing and plenty of shaded areas. Toddlers can explore the farm-themed play animals, barn with a small climbing wall and twisty slide, toddler swings, and other fun features made with little adventurers in mind. 5. R.S. “Dad” Dunham Park – Cary

R.S. “Dad” Dunham Park in Cary has a newly updated toddler and baby play area, giving younger kids their own fun space alongside the park's larger playground. The much-loved sandbox with diggers is still there, while plenty of surrounding trees provide welcome shade on warmer spring and summer days. Bathrooms are also conveniently located near the playground, which is always a big bonus when you're exploring with toddlers!





6. Pullen Park – Raleigh

Pullen Park in Raleigh is hard to beat for toddlers, with an enclosed preschool playground for ages 2–5 featuring three slides, swings, a seesaw, stepping stones, and shaded areas. There's also a separate sand play area with diggers and a playhouse, plus the park's beloved miniature train and historic carousel for even more excitement. With playground time and classic amusement rides all in one place, Pullen Park can easily turn into an entire morning or afternoon adventure for little ones.





7. Lake Wheeler Park – Raleigh

Lake Wheeler Park in Raleigh is a beautiful destination for families, with a fenced-in playground overlooking the lake and convenient access from the parking area. After playing, families can walk down to the shoreline, where there's a small sandy area for kids to explore and nearby tables that are perfect for a picnic.
